Project 1: Track your sleep

From the quality of your rest to how long your nights are, this app allows you to set goals, alarms, and see a history of your data to achieve your sleep dreams.

This app was originally designed around a Figma video tutorial, which initially started with the home page. Once diving into the design I couldn’t help but to flesh out what I thought the rest of the app would look like.

Every app, and website, needs a menu, so that’s where I started. Once I decided what pages this type of app would need, I moved on to make sketches and executed the design.

I based elements of the app on other apps that a user may have used in the past or actively use, like the alarm and calendar section. I thought that replicating these elements would then make aspects of the app easier to learn and use since it is familiar.

The biggest challenge for this app was “how do I pack as much information into a page while simultaneously making it easy to use while also making everything look appealing.”

I wanted this app to be as simple or as complex as a user would want to make it. Simple goals and sleep tracking makes it approachable, but adding more complex, challenging goals with an analysis of types of sleep allows the user to get into the nitty gritty breakdown of their sleep history.

Much more could be added to this project and it may continue to expand over time, but it proved to be a great challenge to test my design skills.
